N.E.R.D

Pharrell Williams has always been a creative inspiration for me. The work him and N.E.R.D. have done over the years acted as a unique fusion of Hip-Hop, Rock, R&B and more. In particular this piece was inspired by an interview he did in the early 2000s stating that he was inspired to created music that channeled the sounds of the 70’s and 80’s without having to sample it. When designing this canvas I sought out to create a poster that directly felt like it would’ve existed outside a psychedelic 70’s concert. The process for this 30x40 inch canvas started in photoshop and illustrator and eventually combined screen printing and painting to bring it to life.

The process took place over several months.
